Joel Matthys composes acoustic, electroacoustic, and interactive music and media which explore language, meaning, structure, and our relationship to the modern world. He is currently Associate Professor of Music and Interactive Arts at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. Matthys earned his DMA at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), and is the founder of CiCLOP and CLIME. He is the developer of Latido, an innovative rhythm and sight-singing game in use at several universities across the country. An active proponent of free and open source software, Matthys has contributed code to RTcmix, ChucK, Pure Data, and Fluxus.
